چکیده

2014 Relaxational modes of short range chain fluctuations in concentrated polymer solutions are investigated by studying the proton magnetic relaxation rates. The relaxation rate in the rotating frame and the spin-lattice relaxation rate observed in polyisobutylene chains are found to be independent of the molecular weight in the range 5 x 104 to 106. They are governed by a mechanism which is ascribed to high frequency chain fluctuations controlled by the solvent concentration through the static free volume introduced into the Williams-Landel-Ferry equation. Free volume parameters are evaluated. LE JOURNAL DE PHYSIQUE LETTRES TOME 37, JUILLET-AOtJT 1976, : 1

Probe mobility in native phosphocaseinate suspensions and in a concentrated rennet gel: effects of probe flexibility and size.

Pulsed field gradient nuclear magnetic resonance and proton nuclear magnetic resonance relaxometry were used to study the self-diffusion coefficients and molecular dynamics of linear (PEGs) and spherical probes (dendrimers) in native phosphocaseinate suspensions and in a concentrated rennet gel. It was shown that both the size and the shape of the diffusing molecules and the matrix topography a...

NMR Water Self-Diffusion and Relaxation Studies on Sodium Polyacrylate Solutions and Gels in Physiologic Ionic Solutions.

Water self-diffusion coefficients and longitudinal relaxation rates in sodium polyacrylate solutions and gels were measured by NMR, as a function of polymer content and structure in a physiological concentration range of monovalent and divalent cations, Ca2+ and Na+. Several physical models describing the self-diffusion of the solvent were applied and compared. A free-volume model was found to ...

Noise and functional protein dynamics.

The magnetic field dependence of the proton-spin-lattice relaxation rate in rotationally immobilized proteins shows that the one-dimensional character of the protein primary structure causes a dramatic increase in the population of low-frequency motions from 10 kHz to 20 MHz. As a consequence, the probability and rate at which functionally critical conformational states are thermally sampled in...

Cu NMR Study of Spin Dynamics in Low - dimensional Spin 1 / 2 Antiferromagnets

63 Cu and 170 nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) experiments are reported on copper-oxide compounds related to high temperature superconductors that are nearly ideal realizations of spin 1/2 Heisenberg antiferromagnets with different geometries of the magnetic interactions: 1 dimensional spin chains, 2 dimensional planes, two coupled chains (two-leg ladder),...

Polymer-mode-coupling theory of the slow dynamics of entangled macromolecular fluids

A microscopic statistical dynamical theory of the slow dynamics of entangled macromolecular fluids has been formulated at the level of effective generalized Langevin equations-of-motion of a tagged polymer. A novel macromolecular version of mode-coupling theory is employed to approximately capture the cooperative motions of entangled polymers induced by the long range, self-similiar interchain ...
